Should You Exercise On An Empty Stomach?

If you workout first thing in the morning, you probably do it before eating a full breakfast.

There’s been an ongoing debate about whether it’s necessary to fuel up before going for that run or hitting the gym. Many studies say fasting before a workout helps you burn fat, while others suggest there’s some risk involved.

However there is new evidence that an empty stomach makes a more efficient workout. There are some downsides, so should you exercise hungry or lightly fed?

CAN EXERCISING HUNGRY HELP TO BURN MORE FAT?

The answer seems to be that hungry workouts really can be more efficient.  ‘Training fasted’ (as opposed to ‘training fed’) seems to make the body burn more of its fat stores. If you ‘train fed’, carbohydrate is available as glucose in the blood and the body turns to that instead. Some small-scale studies are bearing out this theory.

There is even evidence that ‘training fasted’ can make your body more efficient for future ‘training fed’ sessions. These are the times when your body needs to make use of carbohydrate. Inability to do this efficiently can bring that ‘runners wall’ much closer, or give you a sudden dip in the middle of your weights or cardio session.

High Intensity Or Long Duration Exercise (>2 hours)

This type of exercise (HIIT, heavy weight lifting, crossfit) will use up stored carbohydrates and creatine phosphate. It will be hard to do if you do not eat before hand, and if you are very low in carbohydrates, you may use up protein / muscle as fuel (which you don’t really want).

If you do this type of exercise first thing in the morning, I would recommend eating something small and high in carbohydrates (such as fruit) prior to this workout. If you are exercising in the afternoon, I would recommend eating something high in carbohydrates and moderate in protein around 2 hours before. Some examples include yoghurt and berries, healthy sports bar or a piece of toast with eggs.

SO Is it Bad to Exercise on an Empty Stomach?

It can be a hotly debated topic: is it better to exercise on an empty stomach, or is not eating anything at all before a workout just setting yourself up for a lackluster performance?

Hence, if you perform any exercise, ensure that you grab some food before you do some exercise. And as always, consult your doctor first before you do any exercise or fitness program.

5 Exercises That Will Build Up Your Glutes, Improve Your Posture And Burn Fat

People who lead sedentary lifestyles often have issues with their glutes, as they can become atrophied and sore. These muscles actually play an essential role in optimizing the strength of the legs, stabilize the pelvis, and support the spine.

Therefore, their strengthening will significantly improve posture and boost your body strength.  By strengthening the glutes, you will be able to perform high-intensity activities and exercises, and they will also be extremely helpful for various sports and running.

Moreover, the strengthened glutes will prevent injuries. Not only will your body will be strong, your buttocks will be firm. You can gain all these benefits in only 15 minutes of your time, a few days a week.

The following 5 exercises are the best ones to help you build up the gluteus minimus, gluteus medius, and gluteus maximus.

1.Weighted Bridge

Start in a lying position, with the knees bent, and the feet planted firmly on the floor. The feet should be in a parallel position to the knees, a bit more than a hip’s width.

Then, place a light dumbbell on the hips and raise them off the floor, while tightening the abs, thighs, and glutes. If you are a beginner, try it without the dumbbell at first. Then, lower down to the initial position, while the hips are still a bit above the floor. Repeat this 15 times in 3 sets.

2.Lunges

Start in a standing position, with the legs at hip’s width. Then, step forward with one leg and you should bend the knee at 90 degrees, and hold for 5 seconds. Return to the initial position, and repeat this with the other leg. You should perform 3 sets with 10-20 repetitions.

3. Squat Pulse

Your legs should be at hip’s width apart and the toes turned outward. In a standing position, your arms should be in front of your body. Tighten the abs and glutes as you squat downwards, with the back straight and the knees aligned with the toes.

Remain in this position, while you bouncing with the buttock, and you lower and lift it. Repeat 15 times and return to the starting position. You should do 3 sets with 15 repetitions. Use dumbbells to intensify the exercise.

4.Donkey Kicks

You should actually start lying on the stomach, with the knees and hands at shoulder’s and hip’s width apart. Lift the leg towards the ceiling, so it is just above the butt while tightening the abs and glutes.

You should not lift it higher than the torso in order to prevent injury to the spine. Hold a bit in this position and then return the knee towards the floor, but do not allow it to touch the ground.

Repeat 15 times with both legs, divided into 3 sets. In order to intensify the exercise, you should strap on ankle weights.

5.Fire hydrant

You start in the same position as in the previous exercise, but the right leg should be opened towards the side so that your hip is opened and the right thigh is parallel to the floor.

Without touching the ground, you should return the knee to the starting position. Repeat this exercise in 3 sets of 16 repetitions.

How to Properly Plank

The key to getting great results comes down to perfecting the proper planking position. According to an article from Physical Living, this is how to do it: 1. Make sure that your arms are positioned correctly. Elbows should be directly under the shoulders to ensure proper weight distribution.

2. The spine should remain straight. Avoid rounding out your spine and putting unnecessary pressure on your neck and back.
3. Make sure to tighten your core so that it benefits from the exercise.
4. Keep your legs slightly spread. Pay attention to how your hips feel during the exercise. There should be no added pressure to the hip area. Adjust the distance between your feet as needed.
5. Your breathing should be slow and deliberate so that your core is fully engaged and your body is relaxed.

Why Planking?

You may be wondering why the Planking Challenge makes for such a good workout plan. After all, the exercise seems a bit simplistic to be a full-body workout. However, it is just that. Here’s what planking does for your body:
  1. Tones your stomach. As described above, planking involves using your core to stabilize your body and carry out the physical demands to maintain the proper planking position. The abdominal muscles are engaged during this workout. Over time, those muscles tone and tighten to give you a great-looking stomach.
2. Promotes good posture. Because your abs play a huge role in your ability to maintain good posture, planking can also be good for your balance and stability. Over time, you’ll be able to stand up straight and achieve a broader range of movement.
3. Increases flexibility. According to an article published by Mercola.com, your flexibility will improve as you work your back and shoulder muscles in the plank position. The shoulder blades will actually stretch, which promotes a better range of motion.

Who knew such a simple challenge could achieve such great results? Check out the video below for a total breakdown of how to do a proper plank. Share today to challenge your friends.

How I Lost 19 Kilograms For My Wedding

Discover How I lost 40 pounds in 2 months
Hey, I’m Kat and this is my weight loss story – How I lost 40 pounds in 2 months and got in great shape for my wedding. I haven’t been big all my life; in fact, I only started to gain weight when my parents and I moved from India to United States. Let me just say that the food here in the US is very different from what we were used to back in India.

How I gained weight

There are lots of fast foods and nice restaurants in my area and their food is delicious. I loved going out with my friends, and since my dad is an engineer and now we can afford it, we used to have dinner at nice restaurants at least 4 times per week. I also loved snacking chips at night.

Slowly I started gaining weight. I knew I needed to do something about it, but just didn’t have the motivation to get started. …

What made me decide to lose weight?

6 months after we moved in US, I met a wonderful guy and we fell in love. After dating for a few months, our parents decided that it was time for us to get married.  That was the moment when I decided to start doing something about my weight. I had only 2 months left to lose 40 pounds if I was going to fit into my dream wedding gown.

Every bride wants to look stunning on her big day and I wanted nothing less of that, especialy since we had over 300 guests. It was supposed to be the best day of my life and I also wanted to look great for my husband as well…  to make him proud.

The start of my weight loss story – How I found The Morning Fat Melter Program
In my search for the best weight loss program or diet, I came across some short workout videos on Facebook. All Videos belonged to a woman, Aline Pilani, so I started following her and even messaged her. To my surprise, she answered me and told me that she has recently launched her new fat loss program for women.

How I Lost 19 Kilograms For My Wedding
We continued to chat, and when she told me how many people she has already helped to lose weight, I decided to try her program, as it was only $37.

On the download page, I found 9 workout videos – each one around 18 minutes long, a meal plan for 30 days, 2 more ebooks and a video course.

The Morning Fat Melter Video Course made all the difference for me because in those 9 videos Aline explained in detail what I must do to lose those 40 pounds easily. I watched the 9 videos immediately and I got excited :-)

I started the next morning with Aline’s first morning workout. It was great, short and intense, and I felt great all day long.

Aline’s plan recommends drinking a protein shake after the workout, however, I only bought protein powder after 3 days, so in the beginning I made the shake with skim milk, stevia, 4 egg whites and blueberries. The program comes with an exact meal plan and a complete grocery shopping list. I had my mom buy and prepare all the meals according to the meal plan.

The meal plan is based on proteins and fresh veggies and discourages eating carbohydrates a few hours before bed time. I was eating 1300 calories per day, split between 6 meals and every 7 days I was allowed to eat whatever I wanted. Aline gave me a fat loss deserts cookbook as a bonus, and every Sunday, my mom used to prepare one of those deserts for me.
One thing I noticed as soon as I started Aline’s meal plan: I stopped having those late night cravings for chips…
To make things safer, I got rid of all junk food from my home and that is how the cravings disappeared. I still do not keep any junk food in the house.

My Morning Fat Melter Results

My Morning Fat Melter Results
When I decided that the Morning Fat Melter was the program I was going for, I promised myself to be faithful for a least 4 weeks. In the first week, I had lost 5 pounds. It was a great achievement and gave me the motivation to keep going. After 2 months I had lost over 40 pounds and I was slim and looking very attractive.

I finally could fit into my dream wedding dress and I had a fabulous wedding. I love my wedding photos and my husband is still very proud of me for how far I have come.

One thing I have realized is that support during your weight loss journey is very important. My mum and my husband were very supportive and they kept me focused and motivated to go on.

A very close friend of mine also gave me all her support and we did the Morning Fat Melter Workouts together each morning. She came over and insisted even on mornings I wasn’t feeling like exercising.

Aline answered to all my emails and I am so thankful for having found her videos on Facebook.

3 Easy Boob Lift Exercises

Everyone knows exercise plays an important role in our general health, but whether it's a lack of motivation, the need to travel to the gym, the cost of equipment, or simply know how, these supposed obstacles often stand in our way. all you need is yourself. #1 Diamond Push-Up!

You don't need any equipment for this; just a wall and some arms. Simply position your palms in a diamond shape on the wall, scoot your feet back, and begin your push-up. You can experiment with different angles to see what works out the parts of your chest that feel the weakest. Do these every day for 4 weeks and you will be surprised at the amount of toning you can achieve with this little exercise.

#2 One-Armed Buster

This very simple move is free and easy! All you need a wall and a pink tank-top. You all have pink tank-tops right? No, no...green will not do. PINK.
Oh, we're being told that it actually does not matter what you wear, as long as you have a wall and some determination to do this regularly. It's great for armpit fat too!

#3 Tricep Dips

All you need is a sturdy chair, or a stair, or a couch arm to do this uplifting move. Try it out everywhere! Your desk makes a great place also.

This Simple Trick Will Improve Your Next Run

We all need a little encouragement during our workouts. Whether we’ve enlisted a trainer to tell us to bang out 10 more burpees, a running coach to tell us to pick up the pace or we’re mentally telling ourselves to go for it during the last five minutes of SoulCycle. Those little motivational messages and nudges seem to do the trick—most of the time. Now, a new study published in The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research looks at which types of cues work best.

Internally focused cues are those that stress the actual movements of the body—for instance “take longer strides” for runners. Externally focused cues are those that stress the intended effects of a given movement, like “find the gap” for a running back in football or “get the runner at home” for an outfielder in baseball.

The researchers wanted to test what cues, if any, made the biggest mark in terms of improving performance. Past studies have found external cues have the upper hand in terms of producing results, but now researchers were interested in seeing if some types of internal cues could be more beneficial than others.

To do this, they equally divided 68 participants into four groups and asked each person to perform five standing long jumps. There was an external focus group (told to “jump as far past the line as possible”), a broad internal focus group (told to “use your legs”), a narrow internal focus group (told to “extend your knees as rapidly as possible”) and a control group for comparison.

After analyzing the results of each group, they found the external group performed significantly better when compared to the others, with an average distance of 198 centimeters. The broad internal focus group and the narrow internal focus group saw about the same results as the control group (roughly 173 and 178 centimeters respectively). Basically, the researchers found that thinking about the actual body mechanics didn’t do anything to help the athletes. Concentrating on the results did.

So if you want to pick up the pace on your run, focus on the finish line.

What is The Best Time Of The Day To Exercise?

Morning – Best potential for building muscle because testosterone is critical in protein synthesis and for rebuilding muscle fiber damaged in weight training. There is also greatermental focus, which may allow for greater mind-muscle connection and greater efficiency of muscle work done.

Afternoon – Best potential for breaking plateaus by employing muscle shocking techniques because pain threshold is highest and the limits of the body might be able to be pushed further than usual.

Evening – Best potential for strongest performance. This is the time of day when the body is in peak condition for physical activity.

Besides the purely physical observations about circadian rhythm that have been mentioned, there are other considerations that one might take into account when deciding the best time of day to weight train:

* Morning: Is fat loss or fat storage prevention a goal? Morning exercise may help in reaching this goal partly due to higher than normal testosterone. It also helps that your body has not had much food to process yet, and may turn to fat for energy instead.

Exercise has shown to increase serotonin levels. Low serotonin has been shown to be related to depression. Exercising in the morning could possibly help elevate mood slightly for the rest of the day. It should be noted, however, that significant changes in overall mood can take a long time to occur, and will happen as a result of a general increase in serotonin. By doing a workout in the morning, it will be out of the way, out of mind.

*Afternoon: Good balance between all the issues discussed in both morning and night sections.

* Evening: If working out too late, this can affect you’re body’s natural time of slowing things down for sleep. Working out increases ability to absorb nutrients on a cellular level. If adequate nutritionis not in place after a workout, the body might soon be left hanging for an eight hour fast while you sleep.

Is the gym open late?

The 8 Best Bedtime Snacks For Weight Loss

String Cheese
Sure, it’s processed, but hear us out: One serving of this snack contains filling protein and fat, so you feel satiated—and it only packs about 80 calories. Cheese also packs the amino acid tryptophan, which may help make you drowsy, says Brill.
A Bowl of Cereal
Put down the Count Chocula—all that sugar might leave you too wired to sleep (and also give you a stomach ache). We’re talking about the whole-grain, complex carb kind (think oatmeal or corn or bran flakes) that’s easy to digest and gives you 200 calories or less per bowl, says Brill. Pour in a little milk for extra tryptophan and protein.
Nonfat Greek Yogurt
For about 100 to 150 calories, you get the relaxing powers of tryptophan from the dairy, as well as satisfying protein, says Brill. Plus, yogurt can help calm your stomach, so you’re less likely to wake up with heartburn or indigestion and instead can score a good night’s rest.

Two Slices of White-Meat Turkey
Turkey is loaded with sleep-inducing tryptophan (no wonder you’re so sleepy after those massive holiday dinners, right?) and low-fat, high-quality protein, says Brill. A few slices won’t run you more than 100 calories.
An Apple with a Spoonful of Peanut Butter
Apples have lots of fiber and a satisfying crunch. “The protein in the peanut or almond butter also fills you up without feeling heavy in your stomach,” says Brill.
 Pudding Cup
We’re totally loving this one—the creamy chocolate pudding goes down easy, but it doesn’t contain the fat that can sit in your belly like a rock all night. One single-serve pack racks up about 90 calories.
Baby Carrots
Super-nutritious with lots of crunch, these little orange guys will fill you up long enough so you doze off, says Brill. And all for four fat-free calories per carrot.
A Banana
Not only are bananas loaded with satiating fiber and relaxing tryptophan (for only about 100 calories each), but they’re the perfect late-night nosh if you’ve already cleaned up your kitchen. You won’t leave behind any dishes or utensils to wash!

Checkout If you're Overweight

First Lets Define What Overweight and Obesity Are ?

Overweight and obesity are labels for weight ranges that are greater than what is generally considered healthy for a given height. The terms also identify ranges of weight that have shown could increase the likelihood of certain diseases and other health problems.

The overweight epidemic is estimated to have afflicted some 1.7 billion people world-wide. Approximately 2/3 of the United States population are overweight (BMI =25) and almost half of this group are obese (BMI =30). About 5% of the U.S. population is morbidly obese (BMI =40 or BMI=35 in association with significant comorbidities).1 Among children aged 6 through 19 (1992-2002), 31% were at risk for becoming overweight and 16.0% were overweight.2 There is a rise in the prevalence of obesity as well as obesity related comorbidities that are responsible for more than 2.5 million deaths annually through out the world.1

Now Lets Calculate Weight Range Using Body Mass Index (BMI)

For adults, overweight and obesity ranges are determined by using weight and height to calculate a number called the “body mass index” (BMI). BMI is used because, for most people, it correlates with their amount of body fat.

An adult with a BMI of less than 18.5 falls within the “underweight” range.
An adult with a BMI between 18.5 to 24.9 falls within the “normal” or healthy weight range.
An adult with a BMI between 25.0 to 29.9 falls within the “overweight” range.
An adult with a BMI of 30.0 or higher falls within the “obese” range.

Overweight? – What You Can Do

The reasons for being overweight or obese are multifactorial and may include genetics, environmental influences, behaviour (caloric intake and physical activity) and metabolism.

Nutritional and Behavioural Therapy – Overweight and obesity often result from an energy imbalance which involves eating too many calories and not getting enough physical activity which requires a change to behaviour and nutrition.

Medical or Procedural therapy – if Gastric Bypass has failed you there is a safe and effective incisionless endoscopic suturing procedure that can fix this.
A comprehensive and integrated solution taking this all into account is the best approach.

How Can You Lose Weight After Pregnancy

Best Stomach exercises

On average, a woman gains between 25 and 35 pounds during her pregnancy. During and labor and immediately after delivery a new mother might shed 10 to 15 pounds of that. This leaves from 10 to 25 additional pounds of weight left on the new mom’s “new” body. It can be a source of great shock, disappointment, frustration, and despair to a woman to discover that after giving birth she can no longer fit into the clothes she wore prior to the pregnancy.

Lose Weight After Pregnancy

Lose weight after pregnancy is not a fool’s errand, but neither is it an easy errand; it requires patience, a realistic attitude, a positive outlook, and when it comes down to it – persistence and dedication. A realistic outlook by any means is to expect to lose no more than 1 or 2 pounds per week. For an extra 10 to 25 pounds, then, that can take anywhere from 2 months to 2 years.

There’s no quick fix to losing weight after pregnancy – not a sustainable and lasting one, at least. So the best way to succeed is to start out with realistic expectations for the time frame in which to achieve your results and with the commitment to seeing the process through, however long it may take.

Now that you have the right mental attitude, let’s go over a few suggestions for ways to get rid of that unwanted weight postpartum:

Don’t start right away:

Contrary to the “do it now” mentality you’re normally advised to live by, when you’ve just given birth, your body needs time to adjust to the changes it’s undergone over the preceding 9 months. Remember, you are not “returning” to the state you were in before your pregnancy; you’re in a new state you’ve never been in before. You are in the body of a new mother, and this body needs time to get used to this new way of being. Avoid weight-loss dieting of any sort for a good three months after delivering. Don’t worry about exercise so much as just being sure you remain active and moving around. You can use your menstrual cycle as an indicator of when your body is ready to take on a more intentional program of diet and exercise; when it normalizes, you’re ready to go.

Start slow:

Your body is still healing from the pregnancy, and diving headlong into a heavy-duty exercise regimen may be too much of a shock to your newly-adjusting system to do you any good at all. Walking around the block or the park with your baby is an excellent way to begin, and it primes your body exquisitely for taking on more extensive and intensive exercise at a later date.

Set yourself up for success:

That means keep your kitchen stocked with fresh and healthy foods, particularly snacks, so when you feel the urge to eat something, you have only suitable options around. Several smaller meals throughout the day will serve your ends far better than just 2 or 3 large meals. And don’t try and starve yourself. You’ll do no good to your new baby that way, and you’ll invariably find yourself binging sometime later on to compensate.

Have patience with yourself.

The period of time following pregnancy is already exhausting and exasperating enough, on so many levels. Don’t burden yourself further with guilt, shame, and unrealistic expectations.

Shedding excess weight after pregnancy is not an easy task, but it can be done. Every body is different. Rather than comparing your rate of postpartum weight loss to that of any other new mother, focus on sticking to the slow and steady path to the long-lasting results you crave: a body that glows more than it ever did during or before you got pregnant.

Although this may seem like a lot of choices to give up, all of these foods are very high in carbohydrates. This is particularly dangerous for those suffering from diabetes. Health expert theorize that a high carbohydrate diet could raise their blood sugar levels to life threatening levels.

There are good carbohydrate choices.

Meat is naturally low in carbohydrates. Liver is the exception to this rule. Egg’s, poultry, fish, shellfish are good menu choices. They are easy to prepare and are full of vitamins. Green vegetables that are low starch include broccoli, asparagus, spinach, salad vegetables; cauliflower, green beans, Brussels sprouts and celery are also good choice foods that compliment any meal.

There are so many good choice foods to choose from, and so many ways to prepare them that the bad choice foods will not be missed when on a low carb diet.

Fiber is another essential part of dieting.

Fiber helps the body in many different ways. When you do not get enough fiber it defeats the purpose of a diet.

Some of the health benefits that come from a low carb diet are; Lower insulin levels and stabilized blood sugar, which is a great health benefit to diabetics. Lower blood pressure, Lower Cholesterol, more energy, and perhaps the most important reason for dieting, keeping the weight off.

Unlike other diets, the low carb diet is safe for everyone.

There are no side effects from being on this diet as there are not any food limit restrictions for a low carb dieter.

There are so many menu choices that a different meal can be prepared every day and the dieter would not have the same meal twice. For someone who has made a serious commitment to lose weight, a low carb lifestyle should be seriously considered.

Holiday meals can be prepared following low carb diet recipes that are easy, elegant, and very tasty. With all of the sites on the Internet dedicated to low carb cooking, there is no reason to fear dieting any longer.

Gone are the days when dieters had to starve themselves and suffer the pains of hunger all for the sake of losing weight. The low carb offer a healthy alternative to dieting.

An Exercise Plan To Lose Weight

Do you have an exercise plan to lose weight?

Two excellent choices to consider are the elliptical workout and the treadmill weight loss workout.

Let's compare the two kinds of workouts so you will be able to determine which exercise plan to lose weight works best for you.

An elliptical trainer workout has become very popular and actually has a few advantages over a treadmill.

It is less strenuous to the knees, joints and lower back so it is very suitable for people with injuries.

It also works all the parts of your body continuously giving you a total body workout.  An elliptical trainer workout is great for cardio fitness and you can get a good workout in a short period of time.

A treadmill workout is still a very popular workout today.  Many people buy a treadmill so the whole family can use it.  A treadmill workout is perfect for beginners because the intensity in the workout is adjustable by walking, jogging or running.

Treadmill weight loss can best be achieved by exercising within your target heart range zone.  Here is how to find the right target heart rate for you.

First, you need to find out what your heart rate is while exercising after five minutes.  To test your heart rate place your thumb on the underside of your wrist to locate your pulse.

Count the beats for 15 seconds and multiply that number times four.  That number is your heart rate.

To calculate your ideal target heart rate, subtract your age from 220.  For successful treadmill weight loss exercise within 70% of your target heart range zone.

Both the elliptical trainers and treadmills help you to burn fat and are perfect exercise plans to lose weight.  Exercising not only tones your muscles, but actually gives you more energy for your whole day.

You can purchase treadmills and elliptical workout trainers on the Internet as well as fitness stores. Both machines are very effective for burning fat and losing weight.  Just make sure that you buy quality equipment that will last.

If you are looking to burn body fat and take off weight, these two machines can be a great help for your exercise plan to lose weight.

A Whole Body Approach To Weight Loss

What’s the Secret to losing bodyfat and keeping it off?

Ask 100 different fitness experts this question, and you’ll probably get 80 or more different answers.  That’s one reason why fitness and fat loss gets so darn confusing-everybody seems to have “the answer.”

You’ve got 101 different theories about how to induce fat loss including super-slow training, heart rate training, circuit training, Pilates, yoga principles, high-rep weight training, and aerobics.

When it comes to nutrition, there are even more fad diets than exercise theories.  The Atkins Diet, The South Beach Diet, Eat 4 Your Blood Type, Low Fat, Low Carb, Low Calorie, The Zone…even Dr. Phil has a diet book.

Well, I’m going to simplify things for you. Work the whole body each session!  No tricky split routines, no bodypart training…just training the body the way it was intended to function, as a whole.

Human movement, stabilization, balance and strength are the results of a whole body approach to strength training.  Until recently, the fitness industry had forgotten how to incorporate the entire body in exercise programming.

The human body has over 600 muscles, all intended to work as one complete and complimentary system. Traditional exercise programs have neglected the majority of these muscles by training in a one-dimensional environment. This type of training handicaps the body from performing the way it is designed to function.

Training in a fixed plane environment leads to isolated results, muscle imbalance, and injury.  In contrast, the whole body approach to resistance training prepares participants of any fitness level to achieve great improvements in body composition and function better in daily life as well.  The three-dimensional environment of training movements, not individual muscles, enables the body to become efficient in both static and dynamic environments.  Participants achieve balanced, long lasting, effective results.

This method is fun because it is a whole body approach.  The same movement patterns that we used as children (pushing, pulling, twisting, lunging, squatting, stepping and balance in multiple planes) are the core of your approach to fat loss.  From beginners to the most advanced exercise fanatic, this approach to fat loss and fitness will provide fun and effective workouts and lasting results.

Full body training is an extremely effective way to loose weight as involves dynamic, whole body movement that increase caloric expenditure.  Training movements instead of individual muscles can also help change body composition by increasing muscle mass, increasing growth hormone output, raising metabolism, maximizing caloric output, and ultimately decreasing body fat.

Now, regardless of how great your workout is, food intake is the key factor that will either make you or brake you as far as fat loss goes.  The only way that the human body drops body fat is by being in what is called a calorie deficit.  This brings us back to LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS. Remember, I’ll say it one more time...this law states that if you eat more calories in a day than you burn you will gain fat, if you burn more calories in a day than you eat you will lose fat, and if you eat the same amount of calories in a day as you burn you will remain constant.  This is a law!!!!  It is as true as the law of gravity and it is how the body works.  Knowing this, it is simple.  If you want to lose fat you need to adjust you daily calorie intake so that you are into a calorie deficit.  You need to get your calorie count low enough to begin fat loss, but at the same time keeping it high enough to remain healthy.

The second step to optimizing you food intake is by spreading your food out evenly throughout the day.  Ideally, you want to be on a five meal per day plan.  By spreading your calories evenly through five small meals your metabolism works its best for you.  When you constantly give your body food with small meals your body does not feel the need to store fat.  On the contrary when eating large, infrequent meals your body feels the need to store some food as fat for it is unsure as to when it will be fed again.  Get on a scheduled meal plan that your body will respond to.  Five meals a day, approximately three hours apart works great.  A healthy start point for you protein, carbohydrate, and fat ratio’s is 25% of you food coming from protein, 60% of your food coming from carbohydrate, and 15% of your food intake coming from fats.

Now, I’m going to give you an industry secret.  A lot of personal trainers out there are gonna be upset with me for it is too valuable to give away, but I’m going do it any way.  If you want to lose fat and you are unsure of how many calories you are supposed to eat and are not in a position to hire professional assistance, barring any medical conditions, a simple formula to follow is this.

Take your body weight and add a zero on the end.  Use that as your general guideline, split the number evenly among five meals per day and your body should be in a calorie deficit.  For example if you weigh 180 lbs, add a zero, your now at 1800 calories.  Divide that over five meals per day, your eating 360 calories per meal.  Keeping each meal balanced approximately 60% carbs, 25% proteins, 15% fat, you are eating in a healthy way to lose weight.  It works!!  Note, if you have any medical conditions always consult with your physician first. How quickly will you see results?  Although results will vary with each individual, full body training coupled with a proper nutrition program will help you achieve greater results than most other programs in less time.  The results can come quicker and be longer lasting.

Top 7 Tips For Calorie Burning

 Calorie Burning

These are just a few habits you can embrace to start revving your metabolism right away. You may have heard stories about people who have lost dozens of pounds simply switching to diet soda or walking a few minutes each day. These are all small habits that contribute to a big difference and increase your metabolism over time.  You will make weight loss quicker and easier by increasing your metabolic rate and burning more calories.

1) Move More

Sedentary people burn about one-third less calories per day.  By simply taking every opportunity to move can make quite a dramatic difference to the amount of calories you burn in one day. Small movements will add up over time to lots of calories.  The trick is to keep moving throughout your day. Write the word ‘move’ on post-it notes and put them in places you’ll notice them when you’re sitting still. Then, take every opportunity to move, here’s some ideas for burning extra calories:

  • Tap your feet
  • Swing your legs
  • Stand up and stretch
  • Move your head from side to side
  • Change position
  • Wriggle and fidget
  • Pace up and down
  • Use the restroom upstairs
  • Park in the furthest corner of the parking lot
  • Stand up when you’re on the phone and step from side to side
  • Clench and release your muscles

2) Eat Little and Often

Evidence suggests that eating small meals every 2-4 hours will keep your metabolism burning faster than larger, less frequent meals. When you eat small amounts often your body is constantly working to digest and absorb food which requires energy.

3) Eat Fat

If you want feel good and keep the fat off you need to first put it in.  Fat not only tastes good our bodies need it to work efficiently.  By consuming several servings of ‘healthy’ fats every day you will actually increase your calorie burning potential.  Try incorporating fats like Flaxseed oil, hempseed oil, olive oil, avocados, salmon, albacore tuna, nuts and seeds into your diet daily.

4) Drink Cold Water

Evidence shows that your body might expend more calories trying to raise cold water to the temperature of your body then hot beverages. And overall being well hydrated will help your body’s metabolic processes burn quicker.

5) Exercise With Weights

Training with weights boosts your metabolism in a number of ways. By lifting weights you will build muscle tissue. And muscle tissue is metabolically active, so it requires calories even when at rest and so it helps to increase fat-burning enzymes in your body.

6) Spice up

Eating hot spices might speed up your metabolism.  Just half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day can help boost metabolism and keep blood sugar levels in check. Can’t stand the thought of cinnamon in your morning cup of coffee? Spice up with cayenne, crushed red pepper or wasabi.

7) Eat More Protein

Protein requires a more complex chemical breakdown by your body in order to be digested and used as fuel. For example, 100 calories of protein may take up to 30 calories to process.   Protein also takes longer to digest and helps to stabilize blood sugar for longer periods of time  and this can help you to not overeat later in the day.  Eat a portion of protein at every meal and as part of your snacks and you will increase the total number of calories you burn each day.
